College Counseling and Career Exploration

Welcome to the Saint John's Preparatory College Counseling and Career Exploration site.  Students will meet with a counselor to guide them in the college admission and career exploration process.  Counselors will assist them in exploring career opportunities, searching for colleges, preparing applications, and selecting institutions that are a good fit for them.  Below is a basic guideline of the steps that will be taken throughout the students' high school career.

Introduction to Naviance/Family Connection

Naviance is a web-based program to assist the students and counseling staff in the college admission and career exploration process.  Counselors track and submit transcripts and recommendation letters online.  Students utilize Naviance for exploring careers, researching colleges, accessing information for summer enrichment programs, and searching for scholarships.  Naviance serves as an electronic folder for all their college and career research materials.  Parents of juniors and seniors are also able to view information regarding students' materials and can then better assist in the process.  Over 90% of college applications will be submitted online thie year, and Naviance simplifies this process.
