2 semesters of music, art or drama during the freshman/sophomore years 2 semesters of music, art or drama during the junior/senior years
International Languages
3 years of the same international language (Earned ninth through twelfth grades) Mathematics
3 years/credits (Earned ninth through twelfth grades) *A fourth year of mathematics is strongly recommended; many colleges require four years of mathematics for admission. Health & Wellness
1 semester of Health
Physical Education: All ninth and tenth graders are required to participate in either an interscholastic sport or in an after-school intramural activity (twice weekly) each season (Fall, Winter, Spring) to fulfill the PE requirement. Eleventh and twelfth graders are required to participate in one sport or activity each year.
Freshmen: Participation in 3 activities, 2 of which must be sports (either interscholastic or intramural)
Sophomores: Participation in 3 activities, 2 of which must be sports (either interscholastic or intramural)
Juniors: Participation in at least 1 activity (a sport or other school-sponsored activity)
Seniors: Participation in at least 1 activity (a sport or another school-sponsored activity) Science

Students beginning at SJP in the 9th grade require 5 semesters of theology.
Students beginning at SJP in the 10th grade require 3 semesters of theology.

Students beginning at SJP in the 12th grade require 1 semester of theology.

Advanced Placement Classes:
Advanced and Advanced Placement Classes: Advanced classes are available by invitation only. If you are interested in taking an advanced class you should register for it. Your registration request will be your application for the class. The department instructors will then select from the applicants those to be invited into the class. Students wishing to take an advanced course should ordinarily have a 3.0 GPA for the current semester and show a strong interest in the subject matter they are requesting. There is limited seating available in the advanced courses, so enrollment is limited to the number of seats available.
Independent Study Courses:
Students are required to submit a written syllabus to the instructor for his/her approval and must be also be approved by the Academic Dean.
