The camp will run from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. each day. The price of the camp is $100, which includes the price of a daily lunch at the Saint John’s refectory. On Friday, January 5, at 3:00 p.m. the play will be presented on the Weber Center stage.

This week will be fun for students of all abilities and interests! It will be a jam-packed day camp that will provide the opportunity to learn all acting and technical aspects of a production. This is for students of all interests; we encourage students who would like to work backstage to participate as well!

Under the guidance of Prep Theatre Department Director Br. Paul-Vincent Niebauer, OSB, Andrew Noah, a Saint John’s University senior theatre major, will direct the play. Spencer Vogel, a junior theater major at Saint John’s University will be assistant director and several SJP Upper School Theatre students will also support the camp.

The directors will emphasize creativity, collaboration, patience, and concentration while teaching the steps necessary to bring a script to life. Our goals are to develop a love for the theatre process and to have fun doing it!  In addition to the full staging of a play, students will take part in:

  • Improvisation exercises
  • Team building games
  • Technical sessions in set design and construction
  • Lessons in costuming, sound, and lighting design
  • And lots more!

Registration is available online. The registration deadline is October 15.
This is a camp exclusively for Saint John’s Prep Middle School students. We will need at least 20 students to register to host this opportunity.
