Father Timothy Backous, OSB
Headmaster

Father Tim has been a member of St. John's Abbey for the past 26 years. He is a former English teacher and Prefect at the Prep School. In 1989 he received a doctorate in Moral Theology from the Accademia Alfonsiana in Rome, Italy. Since his return to St. John's he had held various administrative roles in Campus Ministry, St. John's Seminary Enrollment, Abbey Development and Residential Life. He served as the SJU Athletics Director prior to taking the Head of School position at Saint John's Prep.

Michael Mullin
Director of Development/Alumni/ae Relations.

Michael is a 26-year veteran of Catholic schools in Minnesota and has served as an administrator, principal, development director, alumni/ae director, planned giving officer, teacher, athletic director, coach and charitable gambling manager. He has been Alumni/ae Director at the Prep School since July, 1998. He is a former board member of the MNSAA and has served on a number of civic boards and committees. He has had experience in the private business world and was an adjunct faculty member for many years in the graduate school at St. Cloud State University. Born and raised on a small farm in southern Minnesota, Mike currently works as the Alumni/ae Director at Saint John's Preparatory School, Collegeville, MN. He and his wife and family live in St. Cloud, MN.
